B.a.m

The B.A.M trip was unexpectedly fun. Being that it was our first trip as seniors and Ms. Hegeman was the one chaperoning with us. I thought it was going to be boring. It was just a good reason to get out the building but it wasn’t. It started from the the train ride, which was dumb long but had people preforming for us. I found it funny because I just went in that same direction the other day when I went to the Braclays Center for the Jordan brand and I seen the same people preforming asking for money. When we finally arrived at the place we started playing the game we play in class with WT, meanwhile, the pizza is getting cold. People in my 3rd period class was tight that the winner of the game wasn’t from our class. The thought of competition made it even more exciting. After we finally ate the cold pizzas and warm apple juice. I found it very backwards how the juice was hot and the pizza was cold. After they tried to made it up to us by giving us cupcakes. We was down stairs for along time, I started to get restless and cranky. Thats when they said we could go upstairs. I was excited to see the others schools. I was tired of staying in the building seeing the same faces everyday. At the college we had to perform our Shakespeare play. In my opinion our school was way better than the other schools. We added our own style to it. That part of the trip was boring so I keep dosing on and off. The only plus about the one of the other groups was that they knew there lines off the top of there heads. That takes a lot of practice. But the very best part was the end of every schools performances when everybody had a chance to make a comment on all the plays. Kids started violating saying inappropriate things on the mic. That trip really surprised me of how fun it was.

LOVE ND BASKETBALL

My favorite movie of all time is LOVE & BASKETBALL !! If you never seen this movie before your really missing out. The movie is divided into four quarters just like a real basketball game. Each quarter explains the time of there lifes for little kids to grown adults. The two main characters was a tomboy girl named Monica, who is the new girl in the neighborhood and played basketball. She moved next to this conceded boy named Quenice most know him as “Q” who will later become her husband. He was the popular kid on the block because his father was a NBA player and he was the nicest kid on the block as well. In the beginning (the first quarter) Monica and Quenice played a game of  2 on 2 with Monica team having game point. Just before the last shot Monica was about to take for the game winner Q decided to push her into the grass, which cut her face. Later on during the school year they became a couple. The next couple of minutes after there kiss saying there together they started fighting because Monica wanted to ride her own bike but Q wanted her to ride his. 2nd quarter was the high school stage. they both went to the same high school and played for the basketball team. Q was the star while Monice was just as good but really didn’t get no shine because of her nasty temper and attitude. This was stopping her from getting recruited to play college ball. Her parents tried to support her by coming to her games when they get a chance. Meanwhile, Q dad was playing on the court his self and his mom just staying in the house cleaning. At this point them two wasn’t together until Q finally seen Monica in a dress when they went to a school party. That same night they hooked up. They was now a couple again. Both of them got recruited to play for the UCLA basketball team, which was the beginning of the 3rd quarter. In college all the girls wanted Quenice but he had Monica. In this quarter Q founds out that his father cheated on his mom with a white women and got her pregnant. This was a hard time for him and he needed his girlfriend. Unfortunately she couldn’t be there to talk because she had curfew. This is when he started cheating to get back at her. They broke up again. 4th quarter there adults Q deciding to drop out of college and go straight to play for the LA Lakers. During one of Q games he landed the wrong way on his knee and tore his ACL, which ended his basketball career. Monica started playing over seas in Spain were she was the star. When she heard the news about her ex she ran to his rescue only to see he was engaged. Later Monica played Q for his love. They got married, had a child, and Monica started her career as a WNBA player. I LOVE THIS MOVIE ITS JUST WONDERFUL. 

"Cheating"?

Im going to start off with saying there is nothing wrong with "cheating" in my book. I believe EVERYBODY is a cheater. What is consider "cheating"? Cheating is when you do something that you wouldn't do when your spouse is around. Everybody is going to cheat at least once in their lifetime. All cheating means is I did something that made me happy but made you sad and if you really did care about me you would be happy for me. I know this theory sounds a little messed up, but it's the truth. People all over the world get cheated on everyday. Some couples just have a agreement with one another to have an open relationship or marriage. Why I don't consider "cheating" to be wrong is because you can't tell me what I can and can't do. People say when you love someone unconditionally you manage not to cheat. That is so FALSE!!! It be that one person you try to be faithful with and they just stab you in the back. What really grinds my gears is when the person i'm talking to want to go through my phone then get mad at what they see. Don't go through MY phone that I pay for then get mad. I don't go through peoples phones because it's not my place, it's not a we phone it's an IPhone.

Empire

I love empire because it pushes me to be successful. On the show the main characters Lucious and his ex wife Cookie,  started making music in their garage, with the drug money they made profit from. Little did they know that they would one day be big producers. Cookie was just released from jail for a bust, she did seventeen years for. Cookie went to jail for Lucious because they figured that by the time Cookie came out they would have the company. Which they did, but Cookie did not know that when she came Lucious would have already moved on with the "love of his life" Anikia and her son Hakeem would hate her for not being there when he grew up. The show got more interesting when Lucious killed Cookies first cousin Monkey. When this went down everyone began to realize how vicious and cold hearted Lucious was. In the show Lucious  and his son Jamal don't have a good relationship because he's gay and Lucious dosent approve of that, their relationship only revolves around  music. Lucious and his other son Andre have an okay realationship the only problem is isn't musicly involved. Hakeem and Lucious seem to have the best relationship, because Lucious often says Hakeem reminds him of himself when he was younger.

why i didnt pass the first time

You don't understand how it feels as a senior taking 10th grade classes. As of now I started to re-take my global 4 over for the 3rd time. Im the only senior in that class. Not only that I have a family member thats in her right grade in the class as well. I'm ashamed that i didn't pass this global the first time nor the third. Me and global just isnt a thing, I just hate social studies/history. Why do we need to know about our pass. The pass is in the pass for a reason let it stay where it is at. The worst thing about having to take the class over is I already passed my regents in this subject so all I need really is the credit. Instead of the teacher giving one big project to do and I just show my face for attendance and leave she wants me to actually sit in the class and take notes. I really just want her to give me the damn credit but I guess it don't work that way. Plus I could care less about what she is talking about... no disrespect. The good thing is that I don't have to write the essays because its not beneficial to me nor her. The moral of the story is don't fail a class or you would end up in my position.

shakespeare a midsummer nights dream

In class we are reading Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, which is one of the worst books I was ever forced to read. The level of difficulty the vocabulary in this book is crazy. Not only I have to read a book I don't want too but now the book is to hard to understand what Shakespeare is talking about. The class have to do a cold read and then break down every line in our own words to even make sense of what Mr. Shakespeare is trying to express to the audience. The best part of the vocab. is the he can curse you out in his own kind of way. This way of writing is not very modernize. Maybe thats the reason I don't understand the words he put before me. Besides the misunderstandable words the plot isn't that bad. Because the vocab is hard it turns me all the way off of wanting to understand the actual plot of the book. There is a little love quadratic thing going on between these four people. My favorite character would be Helena. Helena, the lovesick young woman desperately in love with Demetrius, is perhaps the most fully drawn. Among the group of Athenian lovers, Helena is the one who thinks most about the nature of love which makes sense, given that at the beginning of the play she is left out of the love triangle involving Lysander, Hermia, and Demetrius.

We start off a new semester at the being of the month, I wonder what Ms.Hegeman has in store for us to read now or a topic to do a million Socratic seminars on. I honestly don't know what to say about what goes on in my english class. Its the same thing everyday, its very redundant. Especially when we have a book. As a class we've been on these short stories for a WHOLE MONTH!! Like come on im tired of hearing about Everyday Use, The Lottery, The Sniper, etc. We did a presentation, vocabulary test on words, two Socratic seminars for some, and now theres an essay due. I pray we do something more exciting and interactive like go on a trip. I hope you see this blog Ms.Hegeman and really take what I have to say into consideration. See you next month !!
